1. Meal Prep Like a Pro:
Spend some time on the weekend prepping meals and snacks for the week. This can be in the form of using a weekly planner to plot your family meals and school snacks.
This will save you a lot of time during busy weekdays as you have everything planned already.
2. Create a Family Command Center:
Designate a central area in your home where you can keep track of schedules, to-do lists, and important information for the whole family.
We have ours at the front door so that it is easy to see what is happening as we leave in the morning.
3. Utilize Technology:
Take advantage of apps and online tools to help you stay organized, such as grocery shopping apps, family calendars, and chore tracking apps. In this way all the grownups in the house can have the lists on their phone.
4. Double Duty Products:
Look for products that can serve multiple purposes to save space and money. For example, we use plastic file boxes for storing clothes, art projects and for creating an on the go toybox for the car or restaurant.
5. Delegate Tasks:
Don't be afraid to delegate tasks to other family members, including kids. Even young children can help with simple chores like putting away their toys.
Our little man is in charge of unpacking his school bag when he gets home so that it is ready for the next day.
6. Streamline Morning Routines:
Lay out clothes, pack lunches, and prepare backpacks the night before to make mornings run more smoothly.
We have found that this has made the biggest difference to our lives. Mornings are so much quicker and smoother when we preppare the night before.
7. Embrace Minimalism:
Declutter regularly to keep your home organized and make it easier to find what you need.
I love this one but am also the one that creates a lot of the chaos. Get in the declutter mood and empty the counter tops.
8. Set Up a Snack Station:
Create a designated area in your kitchen stocked with healthy snacks that kids can help themselves to (within reason). you can also create a daily snack box that they can finish as they see fit in the day but know that there is no more after that.
9. Batch Errands:
Try to consolidate errands into one trip to save time and fuel. You can also use curbside pickup or delivery services for groceries and other essentials.
This allows you to take kids along for errands (if you must) and go to one place to get things done before heading back.
10. Self-Care is Key:
Remember to take care of yourself too! Schedule time for self-care activities like exercise, reading, or a relaxing bath to recharge and avoid burnout.
You can also do something that gets your creative spark going which is amazingly good for your brain.
These hacks can help streamline your daily routines and make life as a mom a little bit easier in 2024!
